ROTF.Human.Alliance.Sideswipe Pt.1

The way how Sideswipe appeared in ROTF is a captivating one. A high speed chase to hunt down the Decepticons glued me to my seat as if I was right in the action. The hunt down finish off with Sideways being sliced in half like a piece of chocolate cake. Far too easy I thought. I think it is only fair to include at least a brief fight to give sideways more film time. Somehow I still find the somersault move too catchy. Not how a typical Transformers bot would do. To me these only appear in ninja movies.

Vehicle Mode:

It came as a surprise when I got to know about the ROTF Sideswipe. The ROTF Sideswipe's alternate mode is actually the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Anniversary concept car with a body so sleek and sexy. This contrast to the G1 sideswipe's alternate mode which is a rather squarish red Lamborghini.

Lucky for them, this concept car is a beauty and is specially design for the transformer movie. Something that Sideswipe's brother (Sunstreaker) will be damn proud of.

The silver paint body is such a nice touch. So far, I cannot recall which figure in movie series that had similar type of full body coated with reflective paint. This is so unfair! :D. The tail of the vehicle has a stingray symbol and if you look closely at the hook down to the rear mirror, it resemble a stingray's body showing a stingray tail that extend over the rear mirrors. Very clever.

Again, the Corvette logo adds to the realism of the actual model like all other Human alliance vehicle. At the rear, it is packed with not 1 but 4 exhaust pipes. No wonder sideswipe had that much thrust to somersault over sideways. The rear light areas are squarish but seems to blend well with the sleek and curvy body.

The scissors style doors opens up exactly like the real model.

Standard Human Alliance interiors. Completed with dashboard, steering and seats. Not detail though.

Alternator comparison:

I am a fan of Chevrolet Corvette. I had three of the 2003 Corvette Coupe Alternators. They were alternate modes for Tracks and Ravage though. Comparing the alternator size and ROTF HA Sideswipe, they look to be the same scale.

Sergeant Robert Epps ready for a spin.

Human figure:

The outlook of Sergeant Robert Epps is no way near to the actual person. This figure is badly proportion in my opinion. The body is too short. Arms and legs are too long. I do not know why they chose him to pair with Sideswipe. Is there even a scene where they together fighting the Decepticons?

The articulation is the same as other alliance figures. On the left, I post him to stand at attention like in the army. On the right he is warming up ready for some 5BX...
