Cybertron / Galaxy Force Dreadrock (Part 2)

This week will continue with the review of Jetfire in Robot mode

Robot mode:

There are some serious proportion issue with Jetfire. I will talk about this as we move along.

The wide wings looks great in plane mode but not in robot mode. In fact, because of the width of it, I had lots of difficulty posing him next to any other figures.

From the front, he looks worse off. Small head, wide shoulders, short and fat arms, long body and short legs. What can be worse?

The best thing about this figure has to be the molded 3D Autobot logo.

Jetfire's body is basically made up of 3 sections folded together. The problem with this is that these 3 sections do not mate each other flat so you can see that there are several gaps in between especially from the side.

Details:

The head is not the best around. It looks a little small on this huge body. The visors with wings like design on the side looks decent. I do not like the way the chin narrow inwards making his face looks sharp. At times the face reminds me of a chicken.

There are lots of panel details from the shoulders to his chest.

The arms transformed from the turbo engines looks fat and short. Surely this can be improved. The entire cockpit made up of his body with the side snapping out to provide a dividing between his upper and lower body.

There are a couple of double joints on his lower limbs.

The legs are identical on both sides as well as front and back. You notice that there are fold down feet pegs on both side. This helps to stabilize his body for various pose. The rollers in plane can be seen on the side.

Articulation:

There isn't much pose that you can do despite having reasonable amount of joints on various part of this figure. The reason is because the limbs are too short and bulky. There isn't much you can do with it.

Overall:

This version of Jetfire did not quite impress me. If I am going to pay more for an ultra class figure, I would expect more than just an increase in plastic content. The proportion of the figure is bad and for a figure of this class, I am disappointed to see the lack of playability and height in robot mode.
