Galaxy Force Red Alert (Part 1)

http://toyspileup.blogspot.sg/2015/02/galaxy-force-red-alert-part-1.html

This week is back to Galaxy Force series to feature Red Alert.

Vehicle mode:

The character Red Alert is featured in all three part of the Unicron trilogy. His size initially started as a voyager class figure in the Armada but was downgraded to a deluxe class figure in Cybertron. This actually doesn't come as a surprise in my opinion, Red alert is never warrant a voyager class size.

In the Cybertron series, his alternate form is a Dodge Magnum emergency vehicle. This form looks very similar to the one in Armada.

Like all previous interpretation of Red Alert (except G1), his color scheme is white with blue strip on his bonnet and side. Other colors include black on the wheels with gold rims and transparent red on his screens and signal lights.

Front and Back:

The trademark double blue stripes can be clearly seen from the front. The paint job is not perfect. Same goes for the headlights that are painted gold. It looks to me that the design as well as paint apps are quite sloppy.

There wasn't much details on the side too.

On top of the vehicle are the red light bars and the sirens. At the rear of the vehicle, you can find a slot hole that all Galaxy Force figures had that is meant for the Cyber key to insert.

Gimmicks:

One of the gimmick that red alert had is that a bonnet can be open.

Insert the bonnet are a set of attachment which doesn't seems to be of much use.

Force ignition:

As mentioned earlier, all Galaxy force characters has a force ignition feature. For Red alert, it is at the rear.Once inserted, the rear doors spring open to release a set of cannon at each side.

Here is a better view as a whole.

Transformation:

Red Alert is easy to transform. One step that is worth mentioning is the legs. The transformation of his legs is quite unique as you had to join the rear and front of the vehicle to form it. This is the first time that I had seen such design. Other than that, the steps are quite direct.

Next week: Red Alert in robot mode.
