Generations Trailblazer (Part 1)

This week goes back to the Generations series featuring Trailblazer

Vehicle mode:

It came to my surprise that Trailblazer's alternate mode is an armored vehicle rather than the vintage campers truck in G1. He is spotted having two turrets on the roof as well as his trademark force field projector in between.

I could see why Trailblazer became an armor vehicle in this context. I guess if you do a comparison between this mold and the G1, the main differences are the turret and his projector. The G1 version had them hidden while I can see that since there is no effort to hide them, the easy way out is to turn it into an armored vehicle. As simple as that.

In terms of color scheme, there are no surprises as this version matches his original G1 colors which uses black as the primary color with bits of grey at some small details. His trademark red yellow stripes at the side of the vehicle are also there.

Front and Back:

Trailblazer looks aggressive from the front which is mainly due to the turrets as well as the heavy duty bumper and the cover car screens. From the back, there seems a lack of details with only some outlines details. Not even the rear lights are colored.

On the side, you can see that there is a clear emphasis on the front of the vehicle. The vehicle actually looks good but in my opinion is too lightweight for a deluxe class.

Details:

As most details fall on the front, we will skip the rear section. The front had some cool details like the heavy duty bumpers, the gold head lights, the caged side car screens as well as the single Autobot logo on the bonnet. The wheels look normal lacking in details. The only thing that really stand out is the trademark red and yellow stripes.

A closer look at the force field projector and the twin turrets on each side.

Final words:

I would prefer Trailblazer to be a campers truck instead of this armor vehicle given the fact that Hoist who is his regular partner is a civilian tow truck. To actually put them together looks a little strange. The vehicle itself although looks heavy duty but it is very lightweight as can be seen from the trend in recent releases. The details are decent but surely can be better especially the wheels and the rear section.

Transformation:

Transformation is easy for this deluxe class vehicle. It is actually quite typical with the rear spiting to form the legs and the front spiting to form the upper body. Nothing special.

Next week: Trailblazer in Robot mode.
